The Doberman Pinscher was developed in the late 1800s in Germany by a man named Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann, a tax collector who needed a reliable and protective dog to accompany him on his rounds. He began selectively breeding dogs for strength, intelligence, loyalty, and courage.
